October 2015

October was a crazy month!  First weekend, we drove to Pittsburgh for a wedding of our good friend, Bret.  He was Jake's first buddy when he moved to Virginia.  When we arrived at the hotel, Jeanine had surprised me and brought Renee and Jasmine to Pittsburgh!!!  The original plan  was for mom and Jeanine to meet us there so they could watch Leah and Matthew while we were at the wedding!  What a wonderful surprise.  I could not have been more excited!!  While Jake and I were at the wedding, the family was exploring the town!

The following day, we all drove from Pittsburgh to Penn State to hang out for the day, we had dinner and it was time to say our goodbyes :(

We did get to celebrate Jake's birthday at dinner!!

The following weekend, Lionel and Donna drove down to Penn State to catch a football game and to hang out with Renee!  

Saturday, October 10th, One of Jake's oldest friends was married.  Jake was his best man!  It was a beautiful wedding and Jake did a great job on his Best Man speech.  The reception was held at the Providence Library.

Wednesday, October 14th, we received horrible news.  I was eating dinner in Boston with former co-workers of mine when I received a call that Tavon, the girls father, passed away earlier that day.  I left dinner, stopped by the house to pack a bag and headed to Penn State.  Our lives have forever changed and Tavon will be truly missed....
